Create New Order

The notes can be appended from a drop down list of options just below the notes field.
Check for an existing patient first to reduce the chance of creating a duplicate patient.
Some information is copied from the most recent order for the designated patient (if one exists). The type of information copied can be controlled using RxAdmin along with the selection state of the 'Copy Equip' button.
The 'From App' button is only shown for TeamDME users.
After the new order is created, the system starts the workflow based on the selected Order Type.

Options

  1. Copy Equip: Toggle button - When selected, copies the line items from the most recent order for the designated patient (if one exists)
  2. Patient: Read only field - Shows the patient for the new order - Selected by clicking on the 'Existing Patient', 'New Patient' buttons, or if TeamDME is used, the 'From App' button will also select the patient
  3. RTS: The RTS (ATP) the person responsible over all for the order from start to finish
  4. Order Type: The work flow the order should follow
  5. Notes: The 'Order Notes' (short notes) for the order - These notes show in the grid when opening an existing order and can be edited on the Basic Info page

Actions

  1. Create Order: Creates the new order and starts the workflow based on the selected Order Type - The Patient, RTS, and Order Type must be selected before an order will be created
  2. Select an existing patient: Click on the 'Existing Patient' button and enter filter data in the filter row such as the last name of the patient you are looking for then selecting the patient by clicking on the associated folder icon in the left most column - Checking for an existing patient before creating a new patient is recommended to reduce the chance of creating a duplicate patient
  3. Create a new patient: Click on the 'New Patient' button and fill in the patient information then click on the upper left check button - The system checks for an existing patient with the same first name, middle name, last name, and phone number - Any blank information is assumed to be the same as filled in information for the duplicate patient check, for example if the existing phone number is blank but the new phone number is given the blank phone number is assumed to be the same as the given phone number and will prevent a new patient if the first and last names also match. In this example, if they are actually separate patients, use RxAdmin and enter the different existing patients phone number to allow creating the new patient
  4. Create a new patient from an existing patient in TeamDME: Click on the 'From App' button, enter the TeamDME order number, TeamDME username, and TeamDME password, then click on the upper left check button
